Triumph Scrambler 400 XC: Design, Performance, Price and Launch Date Details Available Here

Triumph Motorcycles has given us a glimpse of its upcoming bike, the Scrambler 400 XC, through its official social media pages. The launch seems just around the corner, and this new model is expected to arrive in Indian showrooms within the next few days. The Scrambler 400 XC will sit above the regular Scrambler 400 X in Triumph’s lineup and will carry a slightly higher price tag—likely around ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 more. This means we can expect an ex-showroom price close to ₹3 lakh.

While the engine setup remains the same as the 400 X—a 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor that puts out 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque—Triumph is adding some new touches to give the XC a more rugged and distinct identity.

One of the most noticeable changes is the addition of cross-spoke wheels with tubeless tyres, replacing the alloy wheels seen on the 400 X. This upgrade hints at better off-road capabilities. Along with that, the bike will also feature a coloured front beak, a windscreen, and a sump guard to offer more protection for the engine—further pointing to its off-road intentions.

A teaser image shared by Triumph also reveals a fresh yellow paint scheme, which is a new addition in the brand’s middleweight range. This unique colour should help the Scrambler 400 XC stand out even more on the road.

Performance and Price

In terms of hardware, the XC variant will share its base with the 400 X. It’ll come equipped with 43mm upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock with adjustability. Braking duties will be handled by a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc setup. As for the transmission, the bike retains the same 6-speed gearbox. However, where the standard 400 X does not offer a quickshifter, even as an option, there’s a good chance Triumph might add it to the XC variant, possibly as a standard or optional feature.

Currently, the Scrambler 400 X is priced at ₹2.67 lakh (ex-showroom) and hasn’t seen a major price revision since its launch. In comparison, the Speed 400, which was first launched at ₹2.23 lakh, now costs ₹2.46 lakh. With its new design touches and off-road-ready features, the Scrambler 400 XC looks like a promising upgrade for riders who want something a bit more adventurous. Now, all eyes are on Triumph for the official launch and final pricing.
