Kia India is all set to introduce the new Clavis MPV on May 23, 2025, and this one’s not just a regular update. The Clavis is positioned as a more premium version of the familiar Carens, with several changes inside and out that make it stand out. Bookings are already open, both online and at Kia showrooms across the country, and customer deliveries are expected to start shortly after the launch.
Kia Clavis MPV Features and Launch Date
Visually, the Clavis gets a fresher look. The front now sports a closed grille, cube-shaped LED headlamps with built-in daytime running lights, and a redesigned bumper with a sharper air inlet. Move to the back, and you’ll see connected LED tail lamps that give it a sleeker appearance. New 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and metal-finished skid plates add a stylish touch that clearly separates it from the standard Carens.
A Much-Improved Cabin
Inside the cabin, things have taken a big leap forward. The Clavis now comes with a large 26.62-inch panoramic display that merges the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system into a single wide screen. The second-row seats get one-touch electric tumble function for easier access to the third row, while a walk-in lever makes things even more convenient.
Other comfort-focused additions include roof-mounted diffused AC vents, integrated air purifiers behind the front seats, and a new Ivory Silver paint finish that brings a more elegant vibe to the interior.
Loaded with Premium Features
The Clavis is packed with top-end features. It comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a 64-colour ambient lighting setup, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof. For added comfort, you get a 4-way powered driver’s seat and ventilated front seats.
There’s also a unique button-based control system that lets you easily switch between the infotainment screen and climate control settings — handy while driving.
Engine Options and Variants
Kia will offer the Clavis in seven variants — HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX, and HTX+. Under the hood, the MPV will continue to offer three engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. The turbo-petrol now gets a 6-speed manual gearbox in addition to the DCT and iMT options, while the diesel retains the 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic.
Standout Features That Add More Value
Kia has packed in quite a few segment-first features to set the Clavis apart. For example, it comes with a remote-controlled auto up/down window function, a 360-degree camera with blind-view monitoring, and rear-door-mounted spot lamps — all of which add practicality and safety. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support is also included, along with connected car tech and support for over-the-air updates.
With all these additions, the Kia Clavis is shaping up to be a strong contender in the premium MPV space. The price announcement on May 23 will reveal how it fits into the market, but one thing’s clear — Kia is aiming high with this new launch.
