Tata Motors is all set to roll out the updated version of its premium hatchback, the Altroz. One of the things that sets the Altroz apart from its rivals is that it’s still available with a diesel engine. Besides that, it comes with the usual 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol.
However, there’s a chance Tata might drop the turbo-petrol engine from the regular Altroz facelift and keep it exclusive for the Altroz Racer, which is expected to be a sportier version. As for the diesel engine, it’s not yet clear whether it will continue, but if it does, the Altroz will remain the only premium hatchback in India offering diesel.
Launch Date and Expected Price
The facelifted Altroz will be officially launched in India on May 22. While the current model hasn’t been a top-seller in its segment, this fresh update could help Tata draw in more buyers. As for the price, you can expect a slight increase due to all the new features and styling updates, but it will still compete with the Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
